These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Ink & Chapter website and the publishing services we provide ("Services"). By using our website or engaging us for work, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Company information. Ink & Chapter is a brand owned and operated by Autech Innovative LLC, an Illinois limited liability company. Autech Innovative LLC operates the inkandchapter.com website, provides the Services, and is the merchant of record for all payments. In these Terms, "Ink & Chapter," "Autech Innovative LLC," "we," "us," and "our" refer to the same operating company.
Ink & Chapter offers book publishing services that may include book writing, editing, proofreading, cover design, illustration, formatting, publishing and distribution setup, audiobooks, marketing, and related author services. The specific scope, deliverables, timeline, and price for your project will be set out in a separate proposal or agreement. In the event of a conflict, that project agreement controls over these Terms.
Consultations and quotes are free and carry no obligation. A quote is an estimate based on the information you provide; final pricing is confirmed in your project agreement. We begin work once the scope is agreed and any required deposit is received.
Merchant of record. All payments are collected by Autech Innovative LLC, which operates inkandchapter.com and is the merchant of record for every transaction. Charges will appear on your card or bank statement under Autech Innovative LLC (or a clearly related descriptor). Payments are processed securely through third-party providers such as Stripe and PayPal; we do not store your full card details. Prices are stated in U.S. dollars unless noted otherwise, and you are responsible for any applicable taxes.
Advertising & third-party costs. Some services, such as book marketing, advertising campaigns, and publishing setup, involve third-party costs that are separate from our service fees for example, advertising spend on Amazon Ads, Meta, or Google, retailer or platform fees, ISBNs, printing, or stock assets. Where we manage such spend on your behalf, the amounts are agreed with you in advance in your project agreement or a written campaign budget, billed either as a pass-through expense (the amount actually spent) or as part of an agreed package, and are handled and accounted for by Autech Innovative LLC. These costs are in addition to our service fees and are generally non-refundable once committed to or spent with the third party. We do not guarantee any particular result from advertising spend, and platform pricing and performance are outside our control.
You retain 100% of the rights and royalties to your book. On full payment for a given deliverable, all intellectual property in the work we create for you (such as the manuscript, cover, and interior) is yours. We are a service provider, not a rights-holder or publisher of record. We may display non-confidential finished work (for example, your published cover) in our portfolio and marketing unless you ask us in writing not to.
Each project includes a defined number of revision rounds. Once you approve a deliverable, or once the review window closes, that stage is considered final. Additional changes may be quoted separately.
Publishing and distribution rely on third parties such as Amazon KDP, Apple Books, IngramSpark, and others, each with their own terms, review processes, and timelines. We do not control and are not responsible for their decisions, fees, availability, or how they display or price your book.
The website, including its design, text, graphics, and logos, is owned and operated by Autech Innovative LLC (under the Ink & Chapter brand) and protected by applicable laws. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse it without our written permission.
We deliver our Services with professional care, but we do not guarantee any particular outcome, including sales figures, rankings, reviews, or acceptance by any retailer. The website and its content are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ink & Chapter will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or Services. Our total liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid us for the specific service giving rise to the claim.
We keep your manuscripts, ideas, and project details confidential and use them only to deliver your project, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Either party may end a project as set out in the project agreement. On termination, you are responsible for payment for work completed up to that point, and we will hand over the deliverables you have paid for.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any disputes will be handled in the courts located in Illinois.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of our website or Services means you accept the updated Terms.
