Pricing FAQ
The money questions, answered straight.
Are these prices final or starting points?
They are honest starting points. The final quote, after the discovery call, lands within 15% either way for 88% of our projects. For the other 12%, the brief reveals scope we couldn't see from the page and the quote moves further. Either way, the number is fixed before any work starts.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes. Standard schedule: 33% on signing, 33% at outline sign-off, 34% on manuscript delivery. For projects above $20,000, we will split it into four or five payments if cash-flow makes that easier. No interest, no admin fee.
What's the refund policy?
Tiered. Before the voice sample, full refund of deposit minus actual time-and-materials cost (typically under $500). After voice-sample approval and before chapter four, pro-rata refund. After chapter four, refund is limited to undelivered chapters. The full eligibility detail is on the refund policy page, written eligibility-first.
Do you charge a deposit?
33% on contract signing, not before. The discovery call, the written quote, the writer match, and the voice-sample brief are all done without payment. We invoice when you sign.
Do you have a minimum project size?
Roughly $1,500. Below that, the discovery and onboarding overhead is too high for the studio. For one-off small jobs (a short edit, a single chapter polish, a Kindle Vella episode), we may refer you to a trusted freelancer.
How do you bill ongoing marketing engagements?
Monthly on the 1st, three-month minimum, 30-day cancel notice after that. Ad spend is paid by you directly to Amazon — we do not mark up ad spend.
